As you may know I ordered my Mahogany Touring (MT) back in February for MSRP. The estimated delivery was suppose to be July. Lately the dealer has been telling me delivery will be closer to Sep/Oct. My wife was livid. At the end of last week she MADE me call every dealership in the North West.
Believe it or not the first place I called, Acura of Spokane (that is Washington state for you east coasters), had a MT being delivered this month. They wanted $2500 over MSRP. I gave him my info and told him to call me if he wanted to make a deal. I didn't expect to ever hear from him again. Called the rest of the North West and found nothing.
After calling my wife and telling her I didn't find anything, the guy from Spokane called me back. He said that the MT was currently being unloaded off the truck in the parking lot as we spoke. I told him I was a patient man and would wait and was not willing to pay $2500 over MSRP.
That afternoon he called me back. This time he said $200 over MSRP (mud flaps included). Hell, $200 is worth not waiting another 3-4 months. I told him I needed to trade my car. We managed to work out a trade over the phone. I got a decent deal too.
I drove up that night and drove it home Saturday morning. It is a 400 mile drive each way and boy was it delightful coming home. The MDX rides so smooth.
I did notice the windshield was a little noisy, but not bad. It could really use a dead pedal. And the Bose can't play random songs from all CDs at once. It only plays random songs from a single CD.
Love it none the less. |
