We have an '04 MDX that is due for its 15k service. The book, under "normal" wear indicates the VTM-4 fluid should be changed. We have never used the MDX off-road nor are we ever likely. Pretty much city driving pavement. Does it make sense to get this fluid changed at this interval?
Thanks. |

Yes, change at 15K. It is required to keep the warranty valid.
The VTM is used every time you accelerate, not just when off-roading. If you did extensive off-roading then you would be in the "severe" maintenance schedule. |

Been very busy. We are in the process of building our own home. Actually the subs are building most of it but we are the owner/general contractor. Even did the home design ourselves. Just broke ground last week. |

Absolutely. :4: Follow owners manual recommendation. |

| Called Acura and they want $70 to change the VTM4. Does this sound right? Seems rather expensive to me. |

Yup
That sounds about right. Would you expect anything less from a dealer? ymmv
Try your local Honda and ask them how much. It might be lower. I've heard not much diff. |

That's in the ballpark. In Phoenix the average is $72 at the dealers. |
