Anyone have an opinion about these navi screen protectors that advertise on this site (www.nushield.com)? Are they necessary? Are they worth it? Do they hinder the touch-screen functionality? Are there better brands? Need I protect my navi screen immediately, lest it melt away whilst it sits my garage? Please respond quickly, in case this is urgent.

Thanks!

Give it a whirl. Our NAVIs are not touch screen. More like interrupt screen. There are IR sensors surrounding the screen and when your finger blocks a IR signal it interprets where on the screen it is and it looks like touch screen next time when using you navi come close to the screen but don't touch it and you will understand.

You sure about that?
Mine will not work with gloves on, only bare hands. If it was IR driven, it would't matter what I touch the screen with.
Just curious.

Thx,

Warzau,
The MDX nav screen is not IR. It responds based on heat sensitivity from your finger. That is why it will typically not work with gloves.

Ahhh news to me. Thats bad, especially for those in colder climates. I know I've used my Navi with gloves on and would hate to have to take them off to use it. Oh well, then I don't know how the Screen protector would react to the touch screen.
