| If Ranjit Patel was a member of this board I'm sure we all send our condolences to his family. |

| Even if he isn't we should still send them. |

This occurred yesterday about 5 miles from where I work and vlam lives. Hopefully not a member of this board.
I drive by there everyday and never really like that motel. It always look run down and "shady" people coming in/out. I don't understand how they stay in business with all the other nicer hotels around.
It's especially scary since that's a very busy area. |

| That's the same color as my vehicle. Perhaps the car was the object of the violence. |

BERLIN, N.J. -- Police said Wednesday that two men murdered in South Jersey are the victims of a one-man crime wave.
According to authorities, there were two separate homicides in two different counties over a period of six weeks, with no links between the two. However, with one arrest on Tuesday, police said they got their man in both of those slayings.
Anthony Rodesky (pictured, left), of Berlin, N.J., is now charged with the murders of Ranjit Patel and James Mickno.
Patel, 57, was shot to death on March 22, outside of the Rodeway Inn he owned in Maple Shade, N.J.
Then, on April 1, Berlin Township businessman James Mickno vanished after leaving his business, Floor Décor, on Route 73.
His body was found in Winslow Township on Monday, badly decomposed. A break in the case came from a Bristol Township auto dealership where Mickno's Nissan Pathfinder was found. A videotape of the sale led authorities to Rodesky.
The motive in both cases was robbery, investigators said.
A 17-year-old is being held as an accomplice in the second murder.
There are reports that authorities have the weapon used in both crime.
Police said more than $40,000 was taken in connection with Mickno's homicide. |

Not to sound racist, but why is it always the Indian names that end up owning the seediest motels? Oh, and the 7-11s?
Wow. You say you didn't intend it but that comment does indeed sound racist and perpetuates stereotypes.
I'd edit that out if I were you. |

I'm sure I'm opening a can of worms here but why should he edit it out if that is what he feels? He did not injure or hurt someone. This country has free speech (this board does not so if Admin decides to delete or lock that is something totally different) and that is what should be enforced. He did offer a "disclaimer" saying that is not what he meant. Sorry but I agree with the statement. Most of the "cheap" hotels I've seen on the news or heard about are owned by middle easterns. I don't think that is an opinion but probably a fact---at least with my limited knowledge. It all depends on how you look at it. At least they own a business where many many Americans do not. |

A disclaimer before a stereotype slander does not a casual observer make. |

Reminds me of the time I got blasted a few years back,
their was a thread about "bad drivers" or something, and
I said "Old Orientals" are the worst drivers, then I was correct,
that now they are called "Asians". |

Anthony Rodesky pleaded guilty and is getting 60 years in the state prison. At least it's a speedy process and he is off the streets. The worst part is that Rodesky had previously work with the State police as an informant.

On a side note, I recently found out that Mr. Ranjit (Rodney) Patel is the brother of someone who I recently purchase a house from. |
