| This past weekend I loaded our lawn mower into the back of the MDX for service. It’s a walk-behind mower and the handle was folder half down. Both seats backs were folded flat. I put two 2x4s under the deck to prevent it from rolling and tied rope from the handle to a tie-down on the left and right side. Unfortunately this wasn’t adequate restraint as I found out 15 minutes later slowing for a turn. The ropes both cut through due to the sharp edge on the handle and the mower careened forward. Luckily for me I was turning left so the mower hit the empty passenger seat. Not so lucky for the overhead DVD player which was closed but still low enough for the mower handle to leave three deep gashes along the plastic bezel (the controls were spared). The head-liner by the sunroof and the b-piller were also slightly damaged. I sent an email to Tim at Hondacuraworld.com but he can’t order the damaged bezel, only the entire DVD unit ($980). So I guess I’ll live with the scratches, but I’d like to get out the black paint. Anyone have any suggestions on what to use to buff or clean the plastic to remove light scratches or paint? Thanks. |

I have used this on interior trim before. Find an old fashioned eraser, preferably the rougher kind like they used to call a "ball point pen" or "typewriter" eraser.
Clean the surface and then buff it with the eraser. It is soft, but still abrasive. You will lose some surface grain of the plastic, but you will buff off the rough endges of the gouge so it is less noticeable & 'erase' the paint transfer.
Good Luck!

I know the kind of eraser you're talking about and I'll try it if I can find one. Thanks. |

Arzoo,
Sorry to hear that, as I know how depressing that must be.
Hopefully you'll get the scratches out and be "good to go".
