Hey all. I'm in the process of changing the bulbs on my '04 and came across this brand while browsing through ebay. I already changed my lows to PIAA Xtreme Whites. I was thinking about HIDs but since I live in NYC, HID's won't really do much in terms of illumination. Anyway, anyone have any experiences or know of this brand? They claim to be just a good as PIAAs and comes with a lifetime warranty. I'm assuming that the warranty is valid but they rape you on s/h to make up for it. Here's the link for the 9006s that I was considering for the fogs.

Not 'cheap blue spray painted'. But they are blue....???
Mix Xenon gas in the bulb and hope it is ignited without a HV spark?
Interesting.

I agree. They didn't use spray paint but they used something to coat those bulbs. Let us know what the longevity of these are.

What's kind of funny is the beam pattern is different between the MTEC and the stock bulb. Also, the side marker bulb is the same color as the headlight bulbs in their pictures.

Make sure and save the original boxes!!!

I live in Jersey now but drive up into the city on the weekends. HIDs are best for city driveign or any other driveing. I used the Mtec in my fog lamps before recently removeing my fog lamps all together. Didn't need the fogs anymore because I have real HIDs and it is more then enough. The HID output just washes out the fog light output and it is hard to tell wether they are on or off from behind the wheel. Now my fog lamp openings act as funnels to force air up through a series of tubes into the intake.
Mtec are good for tinted halogen bulbs. They seem to last just as long as the PIAA bulbs I had before I switched to the Mtec. There isn't any particular brand that provides a large increase in ouput over the factory bulbs but because they are tinted they do look a little better. You can see how the PIAA plasma yellow bulbs look with my HIDs in the photo within my signiture. The MTEC yellow bulbs looked exactly the same. Higher wattage bulbs are brigher but still dim compared to genuine HID.

I bought a pair for $15 in downtown LA and one of the bulb failed within a week. They are not bright at all. BTW I don't think they are made in Japan. Most of the Japanese bulbs cost $50 or more. Get Hoen's bulbs. They are brighter and more reliable. I have Hoen's Titanium bulbs on my car for more than a year already. I have tried a dozen "super white" type of bulbs on my Accord. Most of them last less than 3 month.

Check My accessories page. Got them from the same ebay seller. I have an 02 - my lows and fogs are 9006's, so I bought 2 pair and saved on shipping (only charges $1 for each add'l). Since you already have PIAA lows, why not get the highs & fogs so that they all match (color wise) and save on shipping. I installed them in Nov and so far have had no problems. As long as they last more than a year I figure I'm ahead compared to Silverstars or Hoens or PIAAs (plus the lifetime replacement). Definitely like the color much better than stock, and it is an inexpensive compromise to full HIDs . . .

I just got them for the fogs. I don't ever recall using the highs and probably will not do so very often so didn't bother getting them. Also got a set for the backup lights. I don't really have an issue with the backup camera being too dark but I won't complain about more lighting.

I'm also expecting these to only last about a year. That's when I'll reevaluate HIDs or perhaps trade it in for something else. Honesetly, the X was not my first choice, albeit a very close second. My first choice was the RX400. But back in September when I got the X, no one knew for sure when the release date would be nor the price of it so I got the X and haven't regretted it. The only gripe i have is the gas mileage. Been getting about 12mpg local, 19hwy and 15avg. Maybe after the first oil change, which will actually be done later today (5100 miles so far), it'll get better. Am I not suppose to switch to Synthentic until the next oil change?

I'm a new owner. Can I get these MTEC's for my low beams? are all H11 bulbs the same? I thought I saw H11 bulbs in SuperWhite.
