I am looking to replace the family Maxima soon and would like to compare a few options on the market. What sites do members recommend to be able to compare various cars side-by-side? Any suggestions would be great.

Try these

MSN Autos:
http://autos.msn.com/default.aspx?src=LeftNav

Edmunds:
http://www.edmunds.com/

Both of the above sites have decent side-by-side comparison. Several other automotive sites like cars.com, vehix.com, etc. can also be used to compare cars.

Here's one: http://autos.msn.com/Default.aspx

Select the car you're interested in and when the page reloads, look on the right hand side to compare top competitors. Good Luck

I am also a big fan of MSN. But I have found a few mistakes on various cars.

edmunds.com is pretty good. Don't forget kbb.com, nada.com and carsdirect.com as well as consumerreports.org (although this requires a subscription and they also provide a service for new car comparisons for like $12). You may not always be able to compare vehicles side by side but these sites provide adequate reviews of the individual cars. I've found that Consumer Reports lacks some information and is usually behind on pricing, they have more info on child safety seat issues and actual fuel economy. Good luck!

Carsdirect.com will let you select a number of vehicles for comparison. Mostly specifications and options. It is helpful. They also have "town hall" by makes and models so you also see what other peoples' comments are regarding problems and fixes.

Good Luck and Hunting.
