Hello,
My brake pedal moves from side to side - seems like there is some play in my brake setup. I can move the pedal side to side with my hand without pressing on the brake (nothing to do with actual braking). It seems my linkage is loose or something.
I went to Acura for warranty and they showed me some other MDXs and the brake pedal moved a bit side to side but not as much as mine. They said they can have a look but if nothing is wrong they will bill me for the time spent.
Just wondering if anyone experienced this problem before and what was the fix? |

| Completely normal and nothing to worry about. If you try doing a search you'll also see you have plenty of company. |

Thanks for the Reply HammerMDX,
I did a search and found some info as you suggested (first time I searched didn't seem to get relevant results) - guess this is an 'undocumented feature'. Just seems odd to have so much play in the brake pedal when both other pedals don't.
I actually went to another dealership to ask them what they thought and apparently, the pivot point for the brake pedal is between two bushings - depending on how far apart the two bushings are will be how far the pedal can move side to side. But, the tech also said this is normal and he showed me some other MDXs which were the same but not as much play as mine. Oh well, guess I'll live with it.
Cheers. |
