| While driving, I noticed a thumping noise in the rear wheel-almost like a flat tire noise. However it only occurred when I applied the brakes. It lasted for approximately 100 miles of turnpike driving and eventually went away. The noise was so loud at one point I actually pulled over because I was convinced I had a flat! The dealer showed me a service bulletin that said when the gas tank is either full or near empty that this thumping noise would occur and there is no fix to it. They did check out my brakes and road tested it to make sure it was not the brakes. I have not heard it since and I have filled the tank several times since then. |

The gas tank slosh is normal, but it only happens after a complete stop. It also isn't nearly as loud as you describe. So, there's no way it was the tank if you were at speed.
