Anyone here know of an independent shop in Massachusetts Metro West (or southwest) area that is reliable and generally works on Acura's?
I am getting sick of the dealers around here charging an arm and a leg for routine maintenance. I am even planning to replace my own brake pads this weekend because the dealer I use wanted to charge something like $250 for the front brakes. When I asked why so high, I was told they always machine the rotors, whether they need it or not. |

Not sure where you are, but here's what I do:
Local Honda dealer for scheduled fluid changes. Cost for the 30k maintenance was about $200 vs $530 at Acura dealer (I did my own cabin filter change).
Local auto shop for anything else. They do my oil changes and are installing new brakes as I type this. Much cheaper than dealer. Any good mechanic can do a brake job. |

Thanks for the heads up. Actually, I did the brakes myself a couple of weeks ago. I was very surprised at how easy it was. Took about an hour for all four. Rotors needed no work. |
