I went to http://www.consumerreports.org to read the artlcle in the July 2001 edition about the MDX (nice artlcle, by the way).
Well, lo and behold, there was also an article rating Cargo/Sport Carriers (rooftop). As some of you may remember, I posted a question to the board about which might work best with the MDX. I ended up buying a Thule Excursion 667, and we love it. Turns out, that was CR's top rated "luggage carrier," too.
Here is a quick summary of the top models in three categories. When we checked at REI, all three would work with an MDX, but you have to drill an extra set of holes to align the boxes with the MDX Roof Rack. See the article (buy the issue or buy a month online...) for more info:
Wide Sport Boxes - Thule Classic 601 ($400, 92"x28"x17")
Narrow Sport Boxes - Thule Frontier 668 ($250, 89"x21"x16")
