I have an '05 MDX. (I can't bring myself to call it an 'X' as I had an X5--which I called the 'X') Anyway, I've discovered a problem with my hands-free link. I'm wondering if anyone else is having the issue.
I have a few phones paired to the vehicle. I had to replace one due to some issues with the handset. So, I walked through the 'Setup' menu and 'Deleted' the phone that was replaced.
After that, I did a 'List' from the setup menu. The phone was indeed removed. However, when I attempted to add the replacement phone, it went through the pairing process correctly--until it was time to add the voice name for the phone. When I stated the name of the phone (I use the model name), the system replied, "[phone name] sounds like [phone name]. Please choose a different name..."
Indeed, the voice tag for the phone I'd removed was still in the system. The phone itself is not there (as noted above), just the name of the phone. So, I selected another name. For whatever reason, the pair wasn't successful the first time. So, I went through it again. Even though the phone was not successfully added (verified by doing the 'list' command), the voice tag I used for that one was still in the system as well.
Does anyone know how to get rid of the voice tags? I've disconnected the battery on the MDX (which had no effect), pulled the fuse for the HFL (again, no effect), and "reset" the HFL using the system command noted in the manual.
Is anyone else experiencing this issue? I did a search, but did not locate anything for this issue. (Though I did see that many of us are unhappy that we cannot see caller ID!)
Thanks!
