This post is primarily for Tim at hondacuraworld since he is the only person I know that lives in Buffalo. But, if anyone has input, please feel free to respond.
I'm taking about 70 bikers (bicycles) on a 1500 mile bike tour that will be going thru Buffalo on the way to Niagra Falls and on into Canada. Many cities have bike routes and I'm trying to find out if Buffalo has a decent paved bike route that we could take as we come into Buffalo from the south and head toward Niagra Falls?
Any help will be appreciated. |

Buffalo has a bicycle route that extends from south of the city (along Route 5) all the way up to Niagara Falls. I'm trying to recall most of it and where the turns are because I've biked about 80% of it myself.....although most of it I've gone from the Naval park downtown up to the beginning of the Erie Canal in Tonawanda. It is mostly a seperate bicycle highway seperate from motor vehicles except for one stretch that goes for about 8 miles going from Tonawanda to the Niagara Falls border.
I'll be glad to help in any way I can.....here's an address for a free brochure outlining the trail:

Thanks Tim. I went to the link but can't seem to get the pdf files to display. Not sure what's up there. But, there is other information there that will be helpful.
We will be coming in from Erie on route 5 so if you know where we can catch the bike route (what intersection or road), that would be really helpful. I assume that once your on the route, there will be signs to keep you on it???
Laborlitagitor, we are starting in Bloomington, IN on 6/18 and headed to Bar Harbor, Maine. We will be going north thru Ft Wayne then east thru Sandusky, Clevelend, Erie and Buffalo. Then, we will head into Canada and go thru Toronto, Ottawa, Montreal and Quebec City before heading back southeast into Maine and end at Bar Harbor. Should be about 1500 miles in 17 days of riding. |

| To the best of my recall, you will be able to catch the bike route directly along the lake on Route 5 along the lake. I've never biked that area myself, but if you like I might be able to either map it out or get you some reference materials. The part that I'm most familiar with is the part that starts from the Naval Serviceman's park downtown and extends all the way north through Tonawanda to the Erie Canal. |

| Hey Tim, if it isn't any trouble, if you could map out how to get on (and off) the bike route, that would be great. You've already been a big help! |
