| Help guys - I just bought a 2003 X with 40k on it. Beautiful vehicle but there is noice potentially coming from a rear wheel bearing. Is this common? Any other commonalities that it could be? I have 4 brand new tires on it and have had a 4 wheel alignment done. Help! |

Noises in a vehicle very frequently originate from a location other than where you think the sound is coming from. Have someone else drive while you sit in different seats. This may help you pinpoint the location of the noise.
Haven't seen or heard about bearing problems being common. You might jack up the wheel from which you think the noise is coming and spin the wheel. Possible you might hear/feel a rough spot if a bearing.
If you know a mechanic at a good independent shop let him ride with you and put an expert ear to the problem.
