I've been checking the mileage on my new MDX and was pleased to see that the "Trip Computer" is incorrect when figuring and letting me know my average mileage-per-gallon fuel useage. It's always reporting about 2.3 MPG LESS than I'm actually getting. After studying the threads regarding the use of Premium Fuel, I made the decision to use Premium only, with an increased cost of only $3.48 average per tankful. Trip Computer reports 18.1 MPG and my actual mileage for the first 1396 miles on my pride and joy - 20.4 MPG. That's a combined figure for the Dallas/Fort Worth area, primarily in Tarrant county (Fort Worth). I guess there's less stop-in-go traffic in the west. (:
Very few know it here on this forum, but I traded a Toyota Sequoia 4WD/LTD (true mileage 14.3 MPG) for this MDX and I couldn't be happier. |

Did you get beat up on your trade in value of the Toyota?
I didn't even look at that SUV because I notice it was only available in a V8 and I knew it would kill me gas mileage wise. |

Just to say Hi.
I'm in Colleyville and have gotten 23MPG on the highway averaging 75MPH. My wife's city mileage is 15.5 (she has a heavier foot then me and does not understand the concept of coasting).
I have not double checked the trip computer on my 3 week old, but will do so now.

Driving my new MDX home from the dealer in Denver I got over 22 mpg on my first tank of gas assuming the dealer filled it to the top. About 1/2 that was intown the other hiway so I'm pleased to get that without even any breaking and at hi altitude to boot.
What is everyone's experience in terms of the MPG gain from first tank to well broken in? |
