One of the downside with the MDX when I was considering buying one (I ultimately did) was the exterior aesthetics. I thought it looked too much like an undergrown Odyssey and less like an SUV.
Can I poll people to see what they thing about the X's externior aesthetics?
Also, thinking about aesthetic upgrades, what do people think about:
1. spoiler (not rear air deflector)? Cool or cheesy?
2. gold emblem and grill trim? yes or no?
3. Has anyone notice any whisling or other sounds after adding a spoiler? |

Obviously, looks are subjective, beauty is in the eye of the beholder, ad nauseam, but since you asked for it...
1, I think the spoiler adds a little flair to an otherwise understated rear.
2. I agree with SccobyT on this one - definitely NO. The only color I would even consider adding gold trim to is the burnished bronze; it seems to bring out the unique color.
3. There are numerous threads on this one. I plan to get one and couldn't care less if it whistles or not, that's what CD players are for. :D
For an SUV, the MDX appears more streamlined and classy. If that's not your cup of tea, then there's tons of true off-roaders out there with more boxy exteriors. Unless Acura does a major redesign, I don't think the X will escape its Odyssey origins. But then again I own an Odyssey, and it was the similar features that made me turn to the X in the first place. |

I have an air deflector on mine. I like it cause its functional and looks kinda cool.
I saw an X yesterday with gold emblems. Nearly puked. Not really, I just laughed.
Shouldn't make noise.
How about Body Side Moulding? They look cool (the new wide ones look way better than my thin ones) and are functional. DO NOT get a front bug deflector like I did. |
