| Spring was nice, while it lasted. We hit 111 degrees yesterday. Today is expected to hit 114. Both highs break old date records. My pool is now a toasty 87 degrees. Sitting under the ceiling fan on my patio is a bit like being in a convection oven. Just a week ago, we were wondering if we were ever going to hit 100. Pehaps it's global warming? Could it be El Nino? Regardless, we have finally entered swim season in Phoenix, AZ. |

| Not here in New Jersey. Between the low temps and the lack of sun my pool is barely hanging on to 64 with the solar cover...... |

| Agreed, it still feels like March here in the East. |

Very, very nice here in the Panhandle of Florida. The April showers, (read 15" of rain) have given way to May flowers.

It's a good time to have your pool water analyzed. Our recent heatwave has necessitated a bump in the daily run time of my chlorine generator (salt pool) from 10 minutes to 2 1/2 hours. Careful monitoring of conditioner levels and PH is now critical. It is amazing at how quickly the sun/heat will deplete chlorine. Nobody wants a pool of green (or purple) goo in their backyard.
We've nearly returned to normal. The weatherman has promised double-digit temps by the holiday weekend! Enjoy and be safe. |

| It seems somebody in the NY/NJ area didn't pay the heat bill and they turned it off. Brrrr. Wish I could get to Phoenix for some triple digit temps for a little while. |

A week ago we reached 90 in the Seattle area, and most of us were cooked! However, we are now back to the mid 60's and loving it. It is really nice to open the window in the house and have a nice cool breeze flow over you.
However, we are foolishly driving our X down to LA and then Phoenix in a few weeks to sample the hot stuff. We already know that experience will make home look so much better, even with all the rain. |

My daughter and her cousins were swimming in our pool on Sunday in less-than-toasty 72 degree water. The ocean temp at the jersey shore is currently 58 so 72 does sounds good I guess. Our pool won't be up to 86 degrees for another month.
I'll be looking into solar heating the pool next year. My entire yard is south-facing with no obstructions. I want to use solar panels but found I need approx 275sqft of panels to warm my pool. I was hoping for a lot less so that I could install them on the shed roof (80sqft). |
