This is a continuation of the Painting Accessories in a Group thread that 7plus started last month.
Now that Tim has discounted the side steps (and boards), for those of you not opting for Maniks instead, who's still game for a group discount from Rail's powdercoating guy?
I'd like my steps powdercoated like Rail's, color-matched to the Touring wheels. As I mentioned in 7plus' thread, I'd need to rely on someone else to go to the powdercoater live to do the matching -- I'd have Tim ship my steps direct there.
FYI I also asked Tim to check w/his bodyshop and paint guys to see if they might be able to do something at their end before shipping.
Update: Tim's bodyshop guys can't do it and he recommended against NY-based powdercoaters due to higher costs as a result of environmental laws there

Well, after setting fire to a wad of cash, there is some left over, so I'm going Acura+Powdercoat to be like my idol, Rail, and ordering from Tim on Thursday.
Having him ship to Rail's guy, who'll probably receive them late next week.
I'm also ordering a center cap from the touring wheels that the powdercoater can use to color-match.

I dunno if the color/finish on the base rims is the same as the touring. Maybe Tim knows based on the color of the center cap (i.e. if they're the same for both).
BTW, the powdercoater rec'd my steps (and centercap for color matching) on Monday. They'll be done in 2 weeks. |
