Alphard is the flagship minivan in Toyota lineup but unfortunately it's not sold in USA. It seems quite attractive to me. It's even available in hybrid. what do you think?

| The link didn't work for me, but I found some pics and a few specs on it. |

| It looks way cool for a minvan. I would not buy one in the U.S. But I'd drive one in Japan. The front styling is too radical for the American minivan buying public. And the slab sides are ugly, though they offer great packaging efficiency. |

I saw this car in person when I was on a trip to Asia. It's marketed as luxury-van there.
If you think the side slab looks ugly, it looks uglier in person.
I also think it is bigger than the Toyota Sienna. |

I'm not sure about this. It may be taller than the Sienna. But I bet the Sienna is longer and wider. I couldn't find any specs though.:8:
EDIT Damn I'm good, lol. I found the specs....
Sienna Length 200 in
Width 71 in
Height 76.2 in
WB 114.2 in
Weight 4,112 lbs
Alphard Length 188 in
Width 77.4 in
Height 68.9 in
WB 119.3 in
Weight 4,365 lbs |

| I agree that the side slab is ugly. Went to the link and I'm assuming that the exterior pics that eurohazard has posted has the sporty aero kit. Maybe it is better without it. I like the interior design though and it has HID! |

Not Impressed. The front looks too much like the Aztek. The inside looks comfy, but they put the steering wheel on the wrong side.

Everytime I go to Asia, I have to chant "left" "left" "left" while driving, at least for the first few days. That keeps me on the left-side of the road

| The interior looks pretty luxurious. But the 4-cylinder motor is like an econovan!!(?) (At least to US standards:)) |

I believe only former British Colonies drive on the left side. |

So do former Dutch/Netherlands colonies.
BTW, wasn't USA a British Colony? Why do we drive on the right side then? :1: |

You go to western Russia, (Khabarovsk), you will see Japanese (right steering wheel) vehicles but driving on the right. My mind got messed up!
On topic: Sorry but the vehicle is ugly for me. |

Khabarovsk is in Far-EASTERN Russia. They(Eastern Russians) buy J-spec cars by boatloads because of the proximity to Japan and the relatively low costs. Japan has the most draconian inspection/emission laws in the world. As a result of that many 3-4 y/o cars aren`t able to pass them and must be sold abroad, so Australians, Kiwis , Russians and many others get them cheaply. The motor vehichle law in Russia does not specificly prohibit driving a right-hand drive automobile. And yes, it`s one fugly van. |

| I was half out of it when I wrote it. I should know better that is the far east of Russia.  I did travel west to get there one time, through Seoul. Much better than going east through Moscow and flying Russian airliners (Domodjedova Air -- Can't remember the transliterate spelling.) Thanks for waking me up on my error. |
