hi all,
i'm confused between VTM4 fluid and Rear differential fluid? is that two different fluid right?

i know that the VTM4 must flush for every 15k
how about the rear differential fluid?

many thanks

Same. In the service chart is says replace (drain and refill) vtm-4 rear differential fluid. I just had mine done for just under $40 but only because they misquoted me when I made the service appointment. Should have been around $70 w/o coupons. Probably will just do it myself next time.

As has been pointed out before, there isn't a lot of reason to change it other than the fact all fluids collect moisture after a while. It's cheap so it's hard to argue it. If I could only afford one thing, I'd definitely do the tranny fluid first.

Note that there is a separate transfer case fluid which should be changed every 2-3 times you change the differential depending on whether you follow the normal or severe schedule; 30k or 45k.

They are the same.

Just do a search, it is a very simple job. It shouldn't take more than half hour to complete the job, and the cost will be a lot cheaper.
