| According to threads over on Edmunds there is a $1500 Factory Rebate on the MDX - in all honesty I did not pay a whole lot of attention to the details. Go to Edmunds and check the "Acura MDX: Prices Paid & Buying Experience" thread. |

| All I see under the incentives and rebates at both edmunds.com and kbb.com is the financing. |
|

It's probably a specific dealer promotion. I've received similiar offers from my local Acura dealership where they will take an additional $500 off on previous negotiated price.
You have to be very careful with dealer's special because they apply only to in stock vehicles and that usually mean they prep these vehicles with their inflated fees on prep/accessories.
The bottom line is that if a dealer is contacting you about specials, they have price it out accordingly. |

I admitted that I did not take the time to dig up all the facts; I'm not in the market for a new MDX. I am simply reporting what I'm reading elsewhere as a potential service.
Note also I said go to the "Acura MDX: Prices Paid & Buying Experience" thread. |

Got it. I'm just saying it's not appears non-existent. Unless they're talking about '04's on which there is a $1000 dealer cash amount. I don't think my dealer has any. |

There are no factory rebates/cash incentives at this time at all.
It mus be a gimick some dealers are using to discount their inflated dealer costs to help them sell cars. |

I got an e-mail from a Westchester dealership here in NY this morning (I exchanged e-mails last month with them last month about pricing) that read like this:
"...Acura is now offering an Incentive Program and I can save you an additional $1,500 off the original quote I gave you, and still get financing as low as .9% APR."
I'll be calling them later today to find out what the new price would be for the Touring w/ Navi. and why Acura is offering this incentive now. |

It's a dealer incentive not Acura. They are playing games with you and your pricing. |

your most probably right because if Acura was giving it then it would stated on the company website I assume....
what price should I be getting for the Touring w/Navi. nowadays w/ destination? the lowest I got so far is $39,100 - is this considered good or can I do better? |

| I've been offered $38579 (which includes the destination fee) from a dealer in the bay area for a Touring w/ Nav and DVD player. Trying to find out if this is a good price. Your feedback is greatly appreciated. |

Looks like about ~$1500 below invoice. That's a pretty good deal. |

JVS,
You should be able to do better. Invoice is around $38,810. You should be able to get one for $1000-1500 below invoice depending on your area of the country. Of course if this is exclusive of the "rebate", you should be ok. Good luck. |

Just got off the phone with another dealer and they indicated that they would beat the price of 38579 by another $100 to get the business. |

Nice Acura MDXer! Keep playing them off each other. You can probably get an even better price but ~38500 is really good. |

R-MDX,
Did the dealer tell you what date they would shut down the line to start making next year's model? Just curious. |

No I haven't read or heard anything, but then I didn't ask the dealer that exact question. |

I talked to an Acura salesman I know. He didn't know about any rebate or anything, but asked his manager. The manager said "they just put some backend money on the MDX".
He didn't know the amount, but said that every once in a while they get this backend money. Not a rebate, not shown on the invoice. Only paid to the dealer after the vehicle is sold.
The $1500 may be a good number... don't know, but apparently there is some money out there that Acura is giving to the dealers. |

| Thats good to know. Looks like they want to move the mdx's . I am just trying to figure out if its to make room for the 2006 model or something bigger and better like a redesign. (I doubt its a redesign, but you never know) |

just worked out the following deal and having the contract faxed to me right now, let me know what you think:
MDX Tour w/ Navi.
$4,300 upfront for taxes and fees ($0 down)
48 month lease (36 mo. lease will be $10-$15 more on monthly lease)
$475 a month (total cost of vehicle is $38,900)
I have 3 payments left on current car (02 TL). Dealer pays for 2 out of 3 ($375 each payment).
Opinions would be greatly appreciated!!! |

Thanks to this thread, I was able to use the figures (and the information on the 'back end rebate') to get a deal of 38679 (incl destination) for a Touring DVD+NAV from Tischer in Laurel, MD. though that is 100 or so higher than the other offers here.
The other dealers which whom I discussed the rebate refused to acknowledge its presence.
Looks like I can go ahead with this deal as waiting will not make a significant difference. I still need to make up my mind about Silver or Black. Any opinions ?!! |

I would do some searching here for JeffK's leasing tips. These are two things you should know before you sign anything. Good luck. |

Bought the car from Pleasanton Acura in California.
Black and Saddle, so I guess I am going to the Dark Side... :) |

I live in Crofton, MD. I have these email quotes for in stock Touring+NAV including destination. Extrapolate for your additional DVD RES.
Chevy Chase Acura: $37,830.00(includes destination)
Frankel Acura: $38,430 (includes destination)
I think that your $1500 under Invoice deal is pretty solid in this market. I have had Tischer promise what they couldn't deliver on an Acura TSX and ended up going with Chevy Chase Acura on the TSX though.
Please let me know what your bottom line really is when you get it, as I am trying to decide on an SUV right now. |

rajarajan,
Who is your salesperson at Tischer? I'm still undecided on whether to wait for the 2006 model but maybe I would test the market now. |

I also personally benefitted from this thread.
I've been laying in the weeds to purchase a 2005 MDX w/ Navi, intending to wait until the 2006 model had been officially announced and swoop in and get the specific car that I have been craving.
Long story short, did the Chicagoland dealer email blitz, laying out the specifics of the car I wanted and other particulars (cash buyer, could purchase in as little as a week, etc.), and that I was emailing all area Acura dealers. I also pinged two WI dealers to round out the field to 10.
Received 6 responses within a day, two detailing prices ($40,990 and $39,455), the others looking to follow up with me via phone (which I was fine with). One of the phone follow ups was more aggressive, and when we talked live, he referred to invoice price, some backend money (not his phrase), and quoted me a non-negotiable price of $37,288, including everything but taxes, title and registration. This was below my "what would it take to make a deal today?" price of $37,500, so I asked if he could throw in MDX all season mats to make the deal, which he did. Rather than beat the crap out of him for something else or price shop this to death, I agreed. Could I have potentially saved a few more $$? Probably, but I was more than satisfied with the deal, and I like reinforcing this type of car-dealer behaviour (i.e., if they get aggressive and make a fair deal, even the internet shoppers will make a deal).
Soup to nuts, sent my email blitz on Sunday night, picked up my MDX on Wednesday night. Painless and pleasant, best car buying experience ever. Used my savings (and then some) to buy satin sidesteps, separator net and body side moldings from Tim. I am feeling the Acura love...
This was through Libertyville Acura. As I live in the city and all of the Acura dealers are in the 'burbs, I was relatively location-neutral.
Thanks to all who have shared advice and insights, it has paid off in spades for me- |

Joel Lee at 301-575-1791.
He was a very pleasant young man to work with and I was done with the whole transaction (quick test drive + trade in + financing + paperwork) in 3 hours. In retrospect I wasn't too happy with the trade in price but had a very pleasant experience on the whole.

Joel Lee is not working with Tischer anymore. I talked to one of their salesman an showed him this thread and the price you got from them. He did not bother to call me back and so I printed it instead and went to the dealer (Karen Radley) which is just about 2 miles from my home.
Thanks, rajarajan! Not only did they match the price(38679) but also gave me a 2.9% APR for 60 months. As their July 4 special all the accessories I requested were installed without labor cost. The moonroof visor is free together with an Acura hat.
And so I am again an owner of a new 2005 MDX (Sagebrush with Nav/Res) after I went for a 'temporary exile' when I traded in my 2001 MDX a year ago.
I'm planning to keep this vehicle for a long time and hopefully it won't disappoint me. |
