I just got back from Acura of Pleasanton (Bay Area California) and spoke with one of salesperson there. I mentioned that several people in this board got a great deal on a MDX with Navigation and DVD for 38-39k at the Pleasanton and Los Gatos dealerships.. He said that the AcuraMDX.org is just word of mouth and people lie on there all the time. He said if I could prove that someone on the boards got one for that price then he would match it. So I am asking if someone can either give me a name who they dealt with or some other means of proof of their sale price I would really appreciate it very much. We have a 2001 fully loaded now (Remember the 6-8month wait for the first models out) and am ready to turn her in for a new one but I also would like to get the best deal possible...Thanks

You can email me back channel at joystix2@yahoo.com

I can't give you proof since I haven't purchased one, but I can give you the following info:

All prices include destination charges.

Sticker: $44,545
Invoice: $40,179

There's $1500 back end money paid to the dealer for every MDX sold before 7/5/05 (will probably be extended, but not for sure). That brings the dealer cost (not including Holdback) to $38,679.

If you offered the dealer a fair deal of $500 over you would pay $39,179. The dealer would make about $1800 on the deal if you include Holdback.

Make up an offer sheet and FAX it to several dealers in your area. One of them will bite.

I just bought an 05 MDX with touring, nav, and dvd (fully loaded) for $1,800 under invoice from Stevens Creek Acura. Talk to Ed and tell him that Sang sent ya. I can guarantee he will match this price without hesitation. Btw, I love this car! We got the Sage Brush Pearl.
Maximus330I
Thus, my final price was $40,179-$1,800=$38,379+tax and dmv fees.

Got mine 05 MDX Black and Saddle 2 days ago at Stevens Creek Acura for $2000 of invoice with good financing rate 0.9%. Paid $38,179+ taxes and fees. Talk to Steven Tom, say Nguyen Van prefers.

Hey guys thanks for the quick response. I want to plan on going there sometime today and try my luck. Did any of you have a trade in also and did they give you a decent trade in price? Thanks Again

I just bought a 05 MDX w/ NAVI:
I Traded an 03 Denali; Got a deal I could live with,
difference of 7860.00+payoff off of trade
I am in Georgia and the dealer is shipping it from out of state
I had better offers but decided to go local for 500 more.
Steel Blue/ebony NAVI; Net,wheel locks, mudflaps

I think that you are smart to stay local for only $500 more. That has always been my breakover point if I am getting out of town bids.

By the way just joined forum today, been a lurker for several weeks.
Guess all I need to do is talk to wife about accessiories so far the things that are a must have:
Towing package and BSM

She wants remote start for quicker cool off for daughter.

Things I wish the 05 MDX had were:
Less wood.
HID
Vent up/down windows/sunroof via keyfob.

I loved the Denali I traded, but with 15 on highway, well you know!
Dealer gave us a MDX/NAVI till our car gets here.

I didn't get the RES because we bought our 2 yr old a 15in LCD TV (that is normally in her bedroom) and hooked in up to our Saab 9-5 rear seat, it worked great on our drive to TX from GA,,20hrs. Its a snap to install, strap to seat, install book sized DVD player and pwr converter. Well beats small, non swive,l 1400.00 option, IMO.

Thanks to everone who helped out. I just purchased a Fully loaded DVD/NAV Sagebrush Pearl Exterior with Black interior. I ended up filling up many internet free quote sites and by morning I had plenty of replies. We got a really good reply from StevensCreek Acura of $1900 off invoice and $500 over invoice on the Pearl White. I really wanted the White but I couldn't get myself to pay an extra $2400 for a color. We ended up paying $38260 plus all the fees and extra accessories. We traded our 2001 Fully Loaded MDX with 82+K miles on it and they gave us $20K. We were very surprised that the MDX kept its value that well (Keep in mind when we bought the 2001 model there was a 6-8month wait and you had to buy it with all the extras like the gold trim, Plastic front brush grill, sidesteps, fender flares, wood steering wheel, wood shift knob, & cargo cover just to get teh NAV). All and all it was a very pleasant experience and we got one for sub 40K like I heard from fellow board members. I am getting ready to write the Pleasanton Salesperson I spoke with last week who said you all were liars if you put down you got an MDX for 37-38K fully loaded. I still am upset about how he wouldn't even talk to me about negotiating a price specially when we bought our 2001 model from their dealership. I guess we have a new dealership we will be bringing all our business to...

Thanks Again,
Ric

Don't bother writing the salesperson, but you may want to tell the sales manager that they lost a good customer. It's nice to know you can finally get back at them for screwing you on the 01 sale.

Enjoy the new ride!
JeffK
I agree: Do not write the salesperson, but suggest you telephone rather than write the sales manager.

Sometimes it is better not to have things in writing. You may want to have your MDX serviced there, assuming they are competitive and closer to your home.

Just a friendly telephone call, saying you are sorry that you were unable to buy once again from them, but that the price you paid was $2,500 less.

Congrats! DOH! I almost bought that same car! I bought a Sagebrush with the gray interior. I wanted the Sagebrush with the black leather but my wife won. I even had the salesperson switch cars (Your car) and then my wife told them to switch it to the one with the gray interior. I just got back from Stevens Creek Acura. They just installed the running boards and the body trim.

Sang, First of all I want to thank you personally for helping me get a great price. $1900 under invoice and $20K for my 2001 MDX. You can't beat that. I ended up working with Phillippe (Internet Manager). My first Choice was that Pearl White with Touring and Nav but Phillippe's boss would not budge from $500 over invoice. I also liked the Sagebrush Pearl and told myself "I am not going to pay an extra $2400 for a color without DVD...." It all worked out great. I bought the Side Mouldings yesterday and am going to install them today at lunch. We plan on getting the brushed side bars from Hondacuraworld.com. Price is a lot cheaper. Thanks again for the find...

Sang,

I bought my MDX the weekend before from Stevens creek Acura. I want to get chrome sidesteps installed, how much did they charge to you?
Maximus330I
Hi lpax,
I bought the black running boards. I think I paid $650 or so for them. I believe the chrome sidesteps were around $750. I know that they were a bit more for them. Good luck!

Hello again,

My dealer could not find a steelblue / Navi that we wanted and almost passed on the Sage because of the headaches. Thurs we are picking up a Sage. Can't believe the Steelblue was unavailable (I called around within 200 miles, then 6 states, I'm in Georgia) Oh well, guess if the Sagebrush doesn't rub-off on her, we can trade in a couple of years.

I also liked the Steel Blue but quickly found out it was no where to be found. One dealer told me they only got one or two the whole year.

I wonder if Acura keeps a few colors as hard to get and stops the color early to make people balance selection with waiting late in the model cycle for the best deal. In other words you may purchase late and get thousands off, but don't expect all the colors to be available after March/April.

I ended up getting the black/ebony with Navi this past Monday. The dealer started out at $36,995, with all season floor mats and wheel locks. They only had black and Silver to choose from.

I knew there wasn't much room to go down on the new vechicle so I spent most of my time getting him to come up on my trade in. For the best deal I know you should sell your old car yourself, but I didn't want the hassel.

I love black and think it ages very well, however, it is such a pain to keep looking nice I was going to try and avoid it if I could get the Steel Blue.

I was on the fence between Sage Brush and Black. I could have gotten the Sage Brush from another dearler, but couldn't get him within a thousand of the dealer I ended up purchasing from.

Are these types of deals still out there or do we have to wait until middle to late August when dealers are expecting the 2006's to roll into the lot any time???
