Hi

I need help and this is my very first post!

I have a 2001 MDX. the CD player ate my CD's and now it is showing error code "1"

What do I do? How can i fix this! it is very frustrating as the cd player does not work and I have 5 of 6 CDs in the player

PLEASE help!!
HARDROCK
I have had this same error code when a CD was jammed in the player, always when playing homemade CDs with labels on them. What I've been able to do in the past is to take a pair of needle-nose pliers and grab the edge of the stuck CD usually visible inside the access door and gently pull out.

This technique has worked several times during the past three years but not the last time when I inadvertently inserted such a homemade CD and it jammed my player. Had to get the entire unit replaced (under warranty) and they just sent me back the jammed CD's they found inside the unit. That's when I realized I put in the wrong CD!

IMHO, the unit jams too easily and I'm sure Honda has been replacing tons of them. Many folks burn their own CD's and it's hard to get people to change habits when they play everywhere else just fine. As for me, I've learned my lesson and will be very careful in the future.

P. S. - And welcome to the board!

Thank you for the reply and the welcome!!! I appreciate it.

perhaps I should explain my issue in more detail.

I have CDs in 2-6 number 1 does not have a CD in it.

When I insert a CD the CD just ejects. No matter what I do, I get the error code.

My MDX is not under warranty. Is there any type of recall on this?

Don't want to shell out the $600+ for a new CD player.

What other options do I have?:3:

So I guess this means you can't get any of the other CD's to play (or eject), nor that the edge of a jammed CD isn't visible when peering inside the slot. Sounds like the unit may need to be replaced...:(

You might try http://www.carradio.com/ ; they have done good work for me in the past. Their site has an 800 number, if you wish to call them and discuss the problem first.

Welcome to the forum -- we hope you like it as much as we do.

I had the same problem as Hardrock with my 01. I used to carry a pair of tweezers in the console, and they worked fine. I found that both commercial and home made CDs jammed on occasion.
