My MDX is now almost 4 yrs old. When it was about 1 yr old, these 2 lights came on while I was driving; the dealer replaced a computer module and all was well until last week when these lights came on again while driving out of town. Again, the dealer replaced the module. Have many other people had this problem?

With most of us, it was a bad EGR valve; a few had a bad Idle Air Control valve; and IIRC, a very few had a bad Oxygen sensor. It was the EGR for me. Honda apparently has a problem with EGR valves that it won't own up to, but they did extend the warranty to 80K on that part on my wife's Accord V6.

That's interesting! My MDX is now out of warantee due to the 50K miles restriction. I told the service manager that I had the same problem previously. He later told me that they wouldn't charge me for the repair.

I read the manual, tightened the gas cap and drove for a week - the light still was on.
Brought it into the dealership, $70 diagnostics later and nothing found!
Hope light doesn't come on again!

Last week I noticed one morning my check engine and vtm light came on. (about a week after the 65,000 service at dealer) I called them, they said if lights are steady on there is no immediate problem and to come in for service, if lights blink not to drive the mdx. I am awaiting the appointment and hope lights dont blink. I don't notice anything different with transmission except it wont shift into vtm.

This EXACTLY what happened to me! I went in for 60K service on my 03 MDX (change out all the fluids/filters/etc.) and a week later (8 days) both lights popped on! I was wondering what the dealer did to fix your issue. Some say it could be a faulty EGR Valve (which some also say had extended warranty coverage to 80K). I've also heard changing Differential Oil Temp Sensor and topping off of VTM-4 Fluid.

What did the dealer do to fix your issue, and what did they charge you (if you don't mind my asking)?

Thanks for the help.

Happened to me. It was the Idle Control Valve, replaced for free by Acura. But scarry when stopped at the light with the engine revving up by itself.
