| Just curious - does it even matter? Is there any advantage? Im in process of negotiating with 2 dealerships for an MDX, one being the closest to me (and where service would likely be done), the other being a bit farther away. Is there any reason the initial check up (?@7500 mi?) should be done where the car was bought or is that stupid of me for even thinking it? :) |

If I am going to do business with a dealer I prefer to work with the dealer from whom I purchased the vehicle. Just seem to get a better working relationship. Actually I really do little business with a dealer unless there is a warranty problem. The routine oil changes and checks I either do myself or that done at a place that I know.

| The routine stuff I get done at a local Honda dealer. Acura has no problem with my doing this, but Honda dealers may NOT do warranty work -- that has to be performed by an Acura dealer. Honda dealers are usually a bit cheaper on both parts and labor, and their work is every bit as good. |

Me too. And have found the local Honda dealer much less expensive for the occassional routine service.
I think it's good to have a working relationship with your selling dealer for the first 6 mos. or so, to take of any initial quibbles about the vehicle.
But the best selling dealer, may not be the best service dealer. |
