| Try visiting Phoenix when it reaches 117. Feels like an oven. Especially when you are used to 75-80 max. |

117 is nothing, I was living in Phoenix when it hit 122 back in June of 1990. |

MOJAVE DESERT....MOJAVE lake....
130 degrees at 2:30PM ten miles from the lake.
110 degrees on the shores.
Water temp is a cool 78 degrees.
You dont want to know what the temp is at night time when you are trying to sleep. In order to survive...
I poured two buckets of water in an inflatable raft and slept in it.....They were small buckets..so I did not drown. |

We have visited PHX 5 times in the past few years. Everytime (repeat, everytime) it is record temperatures for that time of year when we arrive. We have not seen 122, but when is it ever cool there? Or course our friends and relatives that live there tell us that just before we came it was in the 80's, but somehow we don't believe them. So we have vowed not to go there unless we are freezing and need to get warmed up. |

| Taken on the way home from work today. May not be 120+, but it's still waaaay to hot for a WV boy. |

| Mine was toggling between 104 and 105 on the way home from work this afternoon. The official high at the airport was, I think, 101. |

| Our July heat has cost us the lives of 20 mostly homeless soles in Phoenix. At least we're back to normal. It hasn't been over 110 since last week. It's true, July and August sucks in Phoenix. The pool is too hot to swim. The humidity it too high to allow much cooling at night. If we're lucky enough for it to rain, it often comes down as mud. It is the price that we pay for ten months of kick ass weather in paradise. |

10 months of what, you must be kidding!!! I lived in west Phoenix for 27 years of my life and I would say that Arizona is exactly like Florida, 6 months of great climate and 6 months of less than ideal climate. |

I lived in Cocoa Beach and will agree that FL enjoys six months of "less than ideal". I will also admit that June and September in Phx may not be everyone's cup of tea. However, if you enjoy 100 degree "dry heat" with comfortable evenings, June and Sept makes for 10 months of great weather in the desert.
Phx is not for everyone. Many folks come here and miss rain, trees, green, even humidity. Perpetual blue sky can become just too much for those not accustomed, seriously. |

The main reasons that we ended up leaving the Phoenix area was the excessive pollution in the air and the rise in the overall crime rates. I lived in Phoenix from 1968 thru 1995 and up until about 1993 I really loved living there. I have many family members still living in Phoenix and I really enjoy visiting them and enjoying some good mexican food. |
