For those who have replaced their H11 low beam and/or 9006 fog light bulbs, have you had any problems with melting, discoloration of the housing, or any unforseen issues since you've replaced them with PIAA’s Xtreme White Plus H-11 and 9006 with a Kelvin rating of 4000K. I am also considering into purchasing the PIAA Ion Yellow coated 9006 bulbs. Please also provide how long you've had these bulbs. Any opinions or comments are appreciated.
Thanks in advance,

I had the PIAA plasma blue low beam, PIAA xtreme white plus high beam and PIAA interior lights for 2 years without any problem. the Plasma blue will give you white light instead of OEM yellowish.

Have you actually found the PIAA Ion Yellow coated 9006 bulbs anywhere? I saw them only one place online and they were ~$120/pair!
I think someone in another thread said that they stopped making those. There are a couple of other yellow/gold/amber bulbs out there in the 9006 form factor though. I'm interested in opinions of these as well.
As far as the PIAA H11's (4000K) go, I just got mine today and haven't installed them yet. Other members have tried them and the response has been pretty positive.

| I just replaced my lows with the PIAA H11 last night so it's too soon to notice any discoloration or melting. I must say though that I'm disappointed. Although they're much brighter, they're not that much whiter than stock. To me, the difference is negligible. The silverstars are actually whiter than the PIAAs. If you want brighter than stock, PIAA is the way to go. If you also want whiter, go for something else. I might return the PIAAs. |

MDX189,
autofreak.net has a location near me and visited them the other day. They had 9006 PIAA Plasma ION in the store for $90.
LabMeister,
Thanks for the input and let us know how it works out for you.

Couldn't return the bulbs b/c they've been installed and used. Well, I had to install/use them to make the comparison with the OEM. Plus, I'm going to be charged with a 20% restocking fee. I'll just keep them and not go through the hassle. |

I installed my new PIAA H11 lows tonight and took some pics. I haven't driven with them yet, but my first impression is that the PIAA's seem a little bit brighter, but about the same color as the OEM's.

Went to the Hoen website and couldn't find anything that stated they're DOT and/or SAE compliant. Are they? And, have you or anyone else had any problems with the wattage (70 versus 55 watts)? Thanks. |

All,
Thanks for your input.
MDX189,
Very interesting obeservations. I will probably skip on the PIAA h11 bulb since you found no significant difference in brightness vs the stock bulb.

I`ve had them since March.Got the 70watt version. Love the brightness and color.
And honestly, who cares about the DOT? |

I've had my PIAA H11's in for about a month now. No problems but I too fail to see any appreciable difference. I'll put the stock ones back in when the PIAA's burn out. Wasted 70 bucks.
Maybe by the 2009 model (when I get this one paid for) they'll put HID's in the MDX. |
