I noticed my stock porcelain enameled flavorizer bars were rusting out so I bought a set of stainless bars at Home Depot for $50. I think they have to rust through to be covered by warranty - if there's one left.
I'm pretty sure I need to replace the bars for better cooking but I'm curious if anybody has an opinion on also replacing the grates and burners. I bought the grill in August 2001. Pictures follow.

| Cooking grate...just a little rust on the bottom at the edges..you can't really even see it. |

| The middle burner. One day I plan to switch to natural gas. Don't know if I can use the same burners or not. |

Yeah, walking distance actually. I guess I'm just wondering if I need new bars and if stainless is worth it. |
