What is the VCommand iWonder Cable?
The VCommand iWonder Cable is a one-of-a-kind low cost adapter that allows you to play, control, and charge your Apple iPod or iPod mini through your vehicle's OEM audio head unit. It translates commands from your radio into commands that iPod understands.
Benefits of Using the iWonder Cable with Your iPod
The iWonder interface enables an iPod to take the place of a CD changer and provide the following benefits:
• Direct iPod’s audio output to vehicle audio system for crystal clear (CD quality) fidelity and playback.
• Operate your iPod just like a CD changer.
• Control of iPod via vehicle radio and steering wheel controls
• Charging of iPod’s internal battery and charging automatically stops at one hour after iPod is paused, to prevent battery drain.
• Sound quality that is far superior to FM modulation
Plus, a DVD player or other audio devices can be used in conjunction with your iPod through the Auxiliary Audio Input of the iWonder Cable!
Will the iWonder Cable Work on all Audio Head Units?
The iWonder Cable works on many OEM audio head units but not all. VCommand is currently designing more iWonder Cables for vehicles such as Mazda and SAAB. Please check the comparability list below to see if your audio head unit is compatible with the iWonder Cable. You may also email us at iWonder@advancednavigation.com and we will alert you when an iWonder Cable become available for your vehicle.
Will the iWonder Cable work with an External CD Changer (i.e. Trunk CD Changer)?
The answer to this is NO. HOWEVER, if your cd changer is built in to your audio head unit (am/fm radio), you will still be able to use both the iWonder Cable with your iPod, and the in-dash cd changer. You may also still use single cd players that are built-in to your audio head unit. An iPod connected to your audio head unit with a iWonder Cable makes cd changers obsolete. With an iPod in your vehicle, it's like having a CD changer on steroids!
