Hey, one of those hyper-mile drivers is a member of this forum, Wayne Gerdes, aka 'Xcel'. He used to surf & post regularly on this site, altho I haven't seen him around lately - now I know why . . .

I remember Car and Driver magazine and others magazines had a "MPG contest". They used Honda Insights though.
C/D guys are funny! They used a modified Ford Exscursion as a wind blocker! They whooped every magazine's butt, but I can't remember the MPG #. I can't find the article right now, but if I find it online I will post it. |

It says Xcel is a nuclear plant operator. I thought he ran a landscaping business?? Maybe he switched his line of work. |

Yes I think it is the same guy too. He has been quiet a while though. His last post was 02-23-2005 10:16 PM.
Maybe since he worked at a nuclear power plant his body supplied some nuclear power to the car for better gas mileage. :D
And he was a landscaper. I wonder if his grass had a glow to it? |
