for those of you who didn't read the original thread, catch up here:
CLICKY
basically, i was sold on an upgraded kit that i initially didn't want but didn't mind. then when i encountered problems, i couldn't reach anyone at xenondepot.
more than two monthes later, i have a resolution. as per the original thread, i continued to attempt contact with xenondepot, but i couldn't get thru to anyone. phone calls are never picked up, only a message saying to email them for 'immediate' service.
well the emails went unanswered. i kept emailing them with increasing frequency. what was an almost immediate turnaround to emails during the sales process was now almost non-existent for customer service. every once in a while, i'd get a response instructing me to do something else: test something, try something else, pay for shipping...... at an average of one response a week, it was taking far too long with no end in sight.
finally, i had little choice since i only had one day left to file a
dispute with the credit card company (paypal's dispute deadline had already passed) i wrote them a final email stating my intent to file the dispute. still no response and so i called it in.
guess what? two days later, after i had filed the credit card dispute, i get an email with a tracking number for my ballast.
wow, if you figure 24hrs for the dispute to reach paypal then to reach xenondepot, the shipment went out next day. they had the communication, product, and ability. and only when i finally ran out of patience and time did they actually do anything.
it's a damn shame people like that can do business. funny thing is, i actually don't have any complaints about the product. since it's genuine philips parts in there, i figure it's just part of life that i got a bum kit. but c'mon, customer service like their's is ridiculous. if it wasn't for the credit card company accepting my dispute, i don't know how things would have worked out. god knows paypal wasn't going to touch it. |
