Just got an offer of $4000 off MSRP of $40295 for a MDX Tour Package (no NAV or RES). Dealer claims that's as low as he can go, even with the dealer incentive. Claims it's partly due to the vehicle being Aspen White, which they can sell easy enough.
I get the feeling from reading on here, that I should be able to do better. Any thoughts or advice? |

That's a terrible price. Most are getting the vehicle below invoice, not MSRP?
Is $40295 OTD price? If not, that does not sound like $4000 off MSRP. |

OTD? Not sure what that is...but the bottom price offered was $36295. That's for the Tour Package model only. |

OK.. I just read your post again.. The dealer is basically trying to sell your the MDX for about $60 below invoice.
There is a $1500 incentive to dealer for the 2005 MDX. With the 06 coming, you should get at least that much off the invoice price ($36,355)
OTD, means out the door with taxes, tag included.

Again, that's a terrible price. Definitely offer no more $35,000 |

| Got mine for $35,405.00 (in late June) with free all season floor mats and wheel locks. You can do better. But hurry since it's getting tight. Dealerships are getting pretty low on their 05 inventories. |

| Hall Acura in Newport News, VA is not offering good deals. Just asked for a rock bottom, no nonsense price for a 05 MDX Touring (No NAV or RES). I'm preapproved and ready to buy. They quoted me the Edmunds.com TMV price which is over invoice. That may work on an unprepared consumer but not on me. That price doesn't even factor the $1500 factory-to-dealer incentive or the 3% (off MSRP) factory-to-dealer holdback. What an insult. They could have had a deal which gave them a reasonable profit. Now they have nothing. |

| I'm picking up an X Touring Thursday for 34, 825 plus tax and tags. Included are lug nut locks and cargo tray. |

 You guys are killin' me! I went back to the dealer, and was told $36,860 was the BEST they could do. Why? Because they could. In Oklahoma City...the closest competition is in Dallas, and with only 9 MDXs' left here in OKC and not planning on getting anymore, they are not worried about selling them so they offer little discounting. Plus, they claim only 1 out of 15 MDX's they get are Aspen White, so it will sell easily.
So...I guess if I want it bad enough...I'll have to bite the bullet!
Thanks for everyone's input. |

It's ultimately your decision on how much it's worth. As always, prices will varies by location. One thing you can do is ask the dealer to call you when they decide to sell it for $35K. Another option is agree on their current price but tell them you want the 2006. |

| You could always negotiate having an X shipped from a dealer that is not local. Shipping from dealer to dealer is about $350 and I'm not sure how the local dealer would feel about receving a car sold from another lot.....but it may be worth the question to at least start a competitiive process. |

You're right! They can offer any price they want to. It's a matter of how badly I want the MDX. But it's bad businesss to let a prospective buyer walk out of the showroom. They're not going to make $4000+ profit off of everyone. They could/should take the $2000+ if it's on the table and seal the deal. They'd have had one less 2005 on their lot yesterday. It still may sell but they must now wait for that customer to walk onto the lot and start all over again.
Just wasn't meant to be. I'll live! |

Silver03tl,
I had a 1200 under invoice quote at Virginia Beach about two weeks ago but that was for the two he had in stock, a silver and a black neither of which we wanted.
Karen Bradley came in at 1255 under invoice last week.
Hit every dealer with an email within 200 miles of you and see who bites then see if that will leverage those closer. I got the good quote but NC dealers wouldn't deal at least for me.
Thursday I go to Jacksonville FL and pick up mine. |

Holland,
Glad to see you found one. Congrats! I'm doing exactly what you're suggesting. Making some progress and hope to have a new MDX by the weekend.
Thanks. |

I was so gullible that I paid $2000 over sticker for my 2001. I still can't believe I did that. When we got the 2004, it was for a much more reasonable amount ($3500 below sticker). With this trend, I should be able to make a fantastic deal on my next one! |

Which dealer did you buy from...Duval or Orange Park? I leased my Aspen Pearl White Premium with Acura tow package at $358 including tax. The lease price was approx. 34000.
Nevermind, I should have read the board more closely. $34800. Now my question is which dealer and color?
Thanks and Congrats:p |

I picked it up Thursday, Desert Rock Metallic. Got it from Marvin Tucker at Orange Park Acura. He was easy to deal with, straight shooter.
The only thing that was 'wrong' was they accidentally put on the rear spoiler so that was thrown in also. I didn't want it but after seeing it my wife and I decided we liked it. |

I was also dealing with Marvin at Orange Park but his internet quote was much higher than a dealer, Duval Acura, that I actually visited and bought. He was able to match after I told him about my deal but he did not have the Aspen White Pearl in stock. Duval did and so far we love everything about it, even if it is a plain base Premium version. |

I didn't have any luck with Duval. They started out 1500 above invoice and wound up after a couple more iterations at 500 under invoice. All a matter of timing! |

This is my dealer. I've bought 2 vehicles form them in the last 2 years. They're terrific. Sales guys, service dept. I'm very happy with them. Prices look great, too! I paid $1000 under MSRP for my MDX in November, 2004 and was quite pleased with myself at the time for striking the deal. |
