I have only owned Toyota's and have their selling system down pretty good. Acura is new to me.
My wife loves the MDX and I think it's great too.
We want a 2005 Touring with or without Nav system.
Color would be white
Also want:
sunroof deflector
Running boards
She has a 2001 Toyota 4-runner with low miles and in prestine condition. Should I even bring that to the table or not even bring it up for trade before I start talking numbers?
What incentives should I be aware of?
How far below invoice should I expect? |

Can't go wrong with a MDX.
Here's some info:
1- Current factory to dealer incentive is $1500. Some dealers will (allegedly) give it to you by lowering their price. Some will share a portion.
2- Factory to dealer holdback is 2-3% of MSRP. I hear it's untouchable.
3- Get your accessories aftermarket. It's cheaper and you can install it yourself.
4-Don't mention the trade-in until you've negotiated the selling price of the MDX. At that time, demand a fair price for the trade-in or else you'll walk.
5-Inventories are shrinking. Be flexible on colors, models and pricing.
6- Remember that the prices you read on these forums vary by region. Check www.edmunds.com for prices in your area. (See TMV pricing).
7-Start from invoice price when negotiating. Remember that they didn't pay that price. Once you factor in the factory incentives/holdbacks, they paid much less.

| Here in california, the metallic white is difficult to get. Some dealers are charging more for the metallic white too. We were initially looking for white until we saw the interior. We did not like the saddle. The saddle looks a lot different than on the computer or in their brochure. So we decided on Billet silver/ebony. |

| We are also looking at the white exterior, I think they call it Aspen White Pearl. Yes, I was surprise when I first saw the Saddle interior that it was a darker beige, almost similar to color of real leather. To me it was a pleasant surpise. Anyone have pics of the Saddle interior they can share? What do other people think of the Saddle interior color? |
