I am having trouble pairing my Motorola E815 to the MDX. I have made several attempts following the instructions to the T. The Handsfreelink talk button does not seem to be responding, as it does not beep or mute the radio when pressed. Could there be a problem with the Handsfreelink?

I also had the same problem with the pairing the e815. I followed the instructions but then when the mdx couldn't find the e815. I then did the reverse which is to have the e815 find the mdx. I think that's what I did to work.

You might try checking with one of the last two members and see what settings they had on their 815's. They didn't seem to have any problems linking their phones. I have a V710 and didn't have a problem pairing the phone. Only problem was answering a call on the voice prompt. Changed to the normal ring tone prompt and all was well. Also do a search for E815 and see what you get. This link will take you to results for Verizon

Thanks for the comments. However, if the Handsfreelink was working properly than it should beep and pause the radio with or without a phone present or am I wrong? I get no response when I press the Handsfreelink talk button.

Sounds like you may have a handsfree system problem. When I pressed my HFL talk button, the radio muted and the system responded "pardon?"

Looks like a trip to the dealer.

Good luck

I had to do the same thing with my Motorola RAZR V3. After a couple unsuccessful attempts, I made the V3 search for the MDX and that worked.

I have made an appointment with the service department. Does anyone have any thoughts as to why the talk button seems to be completely dead? The MDX is less than two months old with only 2K miles. I thought they verify that all of the features are working properly before leaving the factory.

I'm sure it was working when it left the dealer lot, but defects do crop up. Think about the thousands of individual parts that make up your X--it's still impressive if that's the only one not working.
