Hi All,
I recenty bought a 02 MDX with 82K miles on it..
Now, Iam looking for extended warranty..
I have searched the forums and most of them were buying the extended warranty when their company warranty was about to expire.. as my case is different, thought of posting in a new thread
and I have seen that many ppl have referred hondaacuraworld.com
as i have many extra miles on my MDX, would they offer plans that cater to my situation..
guys, pls let me know of other options I have..
thanks ALOT in advance |

| I am unaware of any warranty available at that high a mileage, and I'm sure if one were it would have to be aftermarket. As you no doubt know hondacuraworld's 7 yr/100K warranty would cost $2000 if purchased just before the factory warranty expired. Since I am also unaware about any warranty that would go past 100K miles you have less than 18K mile coverage potential anyway. How about putting the $2000 in a savings account and being "self-insured" for these last 18K miles? |

Btw, the dealer from whom I bought is quoting me $2000 for 4yr/unlimited miles after market warranty from Complete Automotive Repair Services (C.A.R.S) Protection Inc. Is this a good deal ? Has anyone ever had warranty from this company ?
tx ALOT once again in advance |

Ask for the policy and read carefully. Find out what is covered and what is not for your 2K. Are all the service records required since originally bought? Aftermarket warranty companies will often void coverage on certain components if you can't prove that the vehicle was maintained as required by the manufacture - i.e. your engine seizes, now prove all the oil changes were done.......... |

Unlimited mileage? Must be a catch somewhere. Bumper-to-bumper? What exactly is covered? Any deductible? What if its not fixed right the first time? Where can be repairs be done? How long have they (C.A.R.S.) been in business? How long were you planning on keeping the car? I'd read the fine print very carefully. |

true.. I also suspect the same..
and adding to the woes, i found only this in google..
http://biz.yahoo.com/ic/121/121113.html
which makes me more skeptical abt this company..
and btw, I havent read the contract yet.. Once i read it, then I will have to decide to take it or not..
So, thats why I wanted to know if you gurus know of any other warranty service..
so, would I be better off than going with a company like this ?
TIA |
