hey intek, where did you order the ddx-8017 from and how much are you paying for it? I'm having mine put in at a local stereo shop
here in westminster ca. the head unit is $1200, 300watt power inverter is $75 and optima yellow top battery is $170. So total is about $1445 installed out the door no tax. Can't wait till 5 o'clock
so I can test out my system with my ppi sub & amp

I paid $950 for my headunit (no installation). What do you have the power inverter for? And if you have a chance post some pics of your installation. I want to check it out. The Kenwood ddx8017 is a great unit. Can't wait to test my out either...

Damn I paid toooooo much, anyhow the power inverter has audio/video inputs plus 300watts rms output so I can hook up my ps2,xbox, and game cube. I also want to add a 10.4 inch flip down in the near future with it's own dvd player that way I could be watching something and my daughter could be watching something else or both screens can be displaying the same thing. I've attached some pics for you to check out but the installation is no yet complete. I still have to bring them my dash kit that I ordered on edashkit.com yestarday, it should be on it's way.

Enjoy

the headunit has alot of features I mean LOTS and the picture is really clean, like I said I just got it done today and is fooling around with the features trying to find the best settings for my component and my subs.

Hey, that a nice installation. But how are they gonna fill up the gap in the stereo area from removing the original headunit? That headunit is definitely nice. I can't wait to get mine and have them put in... Keep me updated with your installation project. But so far, it is really nice....

So what method did you use to keep the voice on the Navi? That is one of the thing holding me back from yanking my HU out.

Intek, I'm bringing them my dashkit that I ordered on edashkit.com to fill in the gap.

Warzau, I no longer have voice guide. I'm sure there's a way to get it back...but I didn't care for it too much, most of the time I turn it off anyways kinda anoying.
intek_gsr
Is there any other ways to hide the gap beside getting the whole dash kits from edash.com?
slam
I guess they could customize it out of a piece of plastic that comes with the head unit.

hey... just got my kenwood... this unit has tons of option. very excited.

slam - do you know what how do view jpg images with the headunit? i read through the user manual but still confuse. also what kind of power inverter do you used to run your game console? does it have to have a certain rms power output? i notice it either 50W, 150W, or 300W continuous power output. which one is best to run PS2? also, how is your installation project coming along?

you should be able to just pop the disc in it should just play it.

they fabricated the molding out of fiberglass around the headunit,
it looks pretty nice as far as factory look...I was thinking about pulling it out and coat it with a layer of gloss that way it'll look like the headunit. I haven't had time to take pics of it yet but i'll come soon after I gloss it.
