Q: Anyone have any experience with the Samsung e317 cellular phone?:confused:

Thanks for your reply. I have been reading various reviews of the Samsung e317. Some are good. Some are not so good. I have never had a flip or camera phone and thought this might be a possibility. I am still undecided. Now, Cingular says they will give me a Nokia 3120 for free if I decide to go with a basic candy bar phone. I presently have a Nokia 3560 and have always liked Nokia. Q: Any thoughts?:confused: |

The Motorola Razr V3 is more phone than I was looking for. But, then again, if I could get it for "free"...then why not? Please enlighten me. I am already with Cingular, but my existing 2-year plan just expired. That is why they offered me a new plan to re-up. If I were to go with the Motorola Razr V3, how would the new service agreement with Cingular be set up?:confused: |

I think the offer only apply to new account, sorry i didn't know that you are with Cingular.
However, if you can have a second line.........................
a family member of yours who has no contract with Cingular currently can apply a new service, then you will be able to get this cell for free.
later join this 2 lines to a family plan then you will save some on the cell bill. If you would like to use the new V3, just put your old SIM card into the V3 then you have the same phone number.
Another option is you can wait a little bit for T-Mobile V3 free offer (Currently it is not free $299). When it is free, switch to T-Mobile for 1 year, you can still get a V3 for free.

i dont know your situation but here is a way:
call cingular and disconnect the service.
go to amazon and buy v3 and do new contract.
(you have to check but i dont think its new customer only. its new contract usually.)
Doing this, you dont keep the same phone number and have to pay activation fee.
Another way:
Call cingular.
say that you saw this promo on amazon.com and ask them to give me that phone for free. I did ones with my other phone with AT&T. They even gave me $50 credit since the price on amazon was minus $50 after rebate. But the trick is... its how you say it. not what you say :)
Doing this, you keep your number and save activation fee.

Thanks for the great ideas. The Motorola RAZR V3 is a very nice phone. I called Cingular and yes, it would require me to set up a new account. I could get the Motorola RAZR V3 free after rebates as you mentioned. However, for $39.99/Month, I would then have their 450 anytime minutes, 5,000 night and weekend minutes, with rollover plan. I would lose the 15% monthly discount that I had on my AT&T Wireless corporate plan. I wanted to keep things simple with my next phone. In the end, I went with the Nokia 3120 and renewed my contract with Cingular. It's not a Motorola RAZR V3, but the Nokia 3120 is free. Since my current phone is the Nokia 3560, I will be able to use the same home and car chargers with the Nokia 3120. Cingular waived the activation fees and gave me a $50.00 credit. (I felt I was making a deal for the phone just like I was in the closing room at the Acura dealership.) For $39.99/Month, I get 1,000 anytime minutes with rollover, and keep my 15% monthly corporate discount. This is more more minutes for my business and personal use. The new phone is on order and I should get it in a couple of days.:) |

| UPDATE: Cingular lost my order for the Nokia 3120. I got them to give me a Samsung X497 phone for free. It's a basic flip phone without a camera. So far, so good.:29: |
