Hi,
I'm wondering if we can increase the subwoofer level in the MDX premium model? I don't see much bass in the output and i want to increase the subwoofer bass but I dont know how to do it. The quick reference guide says that subwoofer setting will be an option in the SOUND control but i dont see it.. I'm only seeing bass, treble, fade,balance.. Any one knows how to do this if at all it is possible? I'd appreciate your help on this.

Thanks.

Hi friends,
I didnt get any response to my post so let me ask again.. Does anyone know how to change the subwoofer level in the MDX premium model? Please let me know.

Thank you.

I have a touring model, so I know it's different than the premium. However I don't think there's anyway of boosting the subwoofer output without just adjusting the "bass" stetting. But as you know, this also boosts bass in the other speakers as well.

I have added Dynamat Extreme to my sub/cargo area. That stuff is awesome. Not only have I eliminated rattles, but my bass output is a little higher. This could be something to look into. Hope this helps! :)

Hi Thanks for your reply.. Can you tell me what a Dynamat Extreme is? Does this help to increase the bass? If so how do you get it installed? Thanks again.

Eurohazard,

Could you discuss how you installed the Dynamate Extreme? What kit did you use?

I guess you just open a can of questions. I just noticed the above post.;)

This is a link to the Dynamat website where it explains how it works and what the benefits of using it are:
http://www.dynamat.com/

Basically, it would insulate the speaker and surrounding area so that your subwoofer (or where ever its installed) would have a cleaner response and a better environment for producing sound.

I'm not aware of any means for increasing or adjusting the electrical power to any of the speakers, except through the standard bass and treble controls as mentioned above.

hope that helps

edit: under the FAQ section on the main page is a section titled 'get more bass with DynaMat' that discusses it in detail.

It is a sticky-backed matting.....think wallpaper, only thicker and more pliable. It is very expensive, but the results are worth it to me, and the others who have done it. It can be a DIY thing, but the hardest part is taking off the interior panels. It may be best for most people to just take it to a stereo shop, and let the pros do it.

I bought a bulk pack of Dynamat Xtreme (part # 10455) on eBay for about $130. It consists of 9 sheets of 18"x 32" material. I did my all 4 doors, the subwoofer/quart panel, and the rear liftgate. Some people do the roof and floor too! I wanted to do the driver's side quarter panel, but I ran out of material....and getting to the inside of the quarter panel is a pain in the ass.

I don't have pictures......my biggest regret was not taking pics as I went!

Do a search for "sub" or "subwoofer". Some threads have good pictures. MANY people have upgraded the subwoofer itself. I did not want to go this route because an upgraded sub requires an upgraded amp. I didn't want to cut or add wires to my (100K mile warranty) MDX.
