Need someone's opinion.

I went to an Acura dealer in NJ and received a price of $39,983 for a 2005 MDX with touring package and Navigation system. I also added the following accessories:

Moon roof air deflector
Running Boards
Rear spoiler

Thanks in advance for your comments.

There are some post out there that show some prices. I think that is a little high.

Has any other dealer given you a better price? Are you happy with the price as quoted. You are the only one that can make the determination as to whether or not the price is acceptable.

G....Are you a little Tipsy:7: ...I was reponding to the tread not asking for other's opinions. I already have mine, which was at invoice price plus the Acura Tow Packing thrown in (I leased).

There are many posts on this subject, and I suggest you check prior threads.

Basically, especially when the '06 are almost out, I suspect a good price is dealer invoice less the $1500 rebate.

Contrary to G. COLTON a good price is not subjective but objective and can be determined.

You may be happy today, but I suspect if you find out that the price you paid was $1500 more than others, you will be unhappy tomorrow!

So do your homework, determine dealer invoice and go from there.

Oops sorry, I quoted on the wrong response.

With gas prices as high as they are the SUV market will continue to dry up. A good price on an MDX is $1500 below invoice (destination included) right now, but I suspect that Honda / Acura will have to throw a whole lot more money at the MDX to keep sales up.

I would suggest that if you could wait until December the 2006's may be selling for $3500 under invoice.

If you're looking for a 2005 there are a BUNCH of used ones out there going pretty cheap. I spoke to a friend in he business and said people are taking $10,000 hits on like new trade-ins for more fuel efficient cars. Almost like a panic.

There will a point where Honda / Acura cuts production of the less fuel efficient vehicles in favor of smaller cars. At least Honda / Acura have very flexible plants that can build a variety of vehicles.

I just bought a 2005 Nighthawk Black Pearl w/Saddle leather interior touring with Navigation. The car came with the all weather floor mats & mud flaps total price paid on 8/20/2005 was $37,267.20 with @ 27 miles on the odometer. After the price was settled, I then told them about my 1999 BMW trade-in with 112,000 miles on it. They gave me $1,500 more than Delray Acura was going to.

I purchased the vehicle at Ed Morse Acura 940 N. Federal Highway, Pompano Beach, Florida 33062 through Jim Ordonez (Internet Sales)

Sorry to say this but I think the mud flaps or gaurds are standard equipment on the 05 models. But hey, they are only like $100 dealer price.

cee52,

Most deals right now are going for $1500 below invoice, if not more in some parts of the country.

Now considering the continuation of the $1500 incentive as another poster has mentioned on this board, the 05 Touring NAV should come to $37,330, including the $570 destination. Considering the accessories you listed, I would say add roughly another $1000 to the above price. Then add the standard tax, tags, and license fees. Hope that helps.

Bottom line, there is still a lot more room to negotiate based on the offer you were given. Be firm and happy negotiating.
