Hi, I am considering getting the Motorola V551 cell phone. It claims that it has bluetooth. I wonder if it is compatible with my '05 MDX audio system.

Yes, I am using the Motorola V551 with my 05 MDX and it works fine. The Bluetooth feature on the MDX is amazing, IMHO. I find I get much better reception using the Bluetooth in the car rather than the hand set with the car off.
Biggest thing to remember is that you have the make sure the Bluetooth is 'on' in the cell phone, the default mode is off.
I had the phone before the MDX and now that I am using it with Bluetooth, it requires charging much more often. I suppose I could manually turn off the Bluetooth if I'm going to be out of the car for awhile, but it seems more trouble than what its worth.
We had an amusing incident with it last week. My wife and I were in the car and we were talking to our adult daughter in another state. I got out and went into a convenience store and my wife was going to continue the conversation. I forgot I still had the phone on my belt and my wife said that after I went thru the door and got out of range, the car said the call was being discontinued because 'Al had taken the phone out of range' was out of range. The name I chose on the car's Bluetooth profile in the pairing sequence was my first name, so it easily tattled on me to my wife. When I returned, I had to re-establish the call to some icy remarks.
