Can anyone help me with this, please? My 2002 MDX has standard cross bars that I can mount a canoe onto with the usual foam blocks etc. However where can I position the front strap that holds the boat down? There is a pretty substantial metal hook or loop on the front cross member...can I anchor a strap onto that?
I'd be grateful for anyother comments about carrying a canoe (not a kayak).

| The hook/loop you mention in the front will work, it's also used as a jack point for the front, so using it as a tie down will work just fine. |
