| Hi Are there ANY benefits of getting these accessories ($312 for both @hondacurawold) if you do not tow, or off-road? I mean occassionally, I may have a full car, or have it loaded up to the roof with stuff from home depot or whatnot, but I have yet found a reason to use a hitch hence. I know it won't hurt to have it but will it just be a waste of $ for me? Thanks, STeve |

It depends on how long are you going to keep your X. I have the entire tow package installed, but I use it for my boat. I do notice that the X runs cooler even in the hot and humid FL weather. My mpg runs on average about 19 to 20 and as high as 25. If you are keeping it for a long time, the transmission cooler maybe a good preventative/insurance since the earlier X had transmission problems. If you are planning to trade/sell it within 3 to 4 years, I would not buy the coolers.
That's my $.02 |

hi, i appreciate your suggestion, yeah i'm going to keep the X and probably run it to the ground. my '01 underwent the tranny recall last year and seems to be running alright.. you are right though $312 for a little insurance on the tranny isn't much in the long run if you thing about it, maybe i'll wait for a few more suggestions before making a final decision, i'm sure tim @ hondacuraworld will have them for a while. there has to be somebody on this forum that bought the coolers and doesn't use a hitch. I just getting that itch to get somehting new. Anybody?
hey did you hear there is another Recall (!!!) out on the earlier model X's, some thing about the front springs snapping from corrosion, just found out myself searching nhtsa.dot.gov
Thanks again, Steve |

Do a search on transmission cooler. I think someone posted a tread about a few weeks ago. I think they are just using the hitch for a bike rack. |

I bought hitch and coolers when I bought the vehicle. Have only towed once in the past year. From all that I read about our vehicle it is a wise move to install the coolers. Small insurance payment if it helps prevent xmission problems.
