| My MDX is now about 4 yrs old and have used Zaino. I am about out of the product, and in the future I think I would like to go the route of applying an "easy" wax, since it is less of an effort for me. Is there any problem just applying a wax over the Zaino products? |

I certainly hope not. After several years of Zainoing, I also lost interest and switched to wax. Does not last quite as long and does not quite shine as much, but far less effort. No problems noted here.
I have been using RainX Wax. |

You can put wax over Z, but ideally you should remove the Z basecoat first if you're going to switch to wax for the long haul. Isopropyl alochol will take off all the Z.
The wax and Z will eventually wear down to the paint/clearcoat anyway, so you could save yourself the effort and let it occur naturally, too. |

| out of curiosity, what did you find difficult about Zaino? As for waxing over it, lots of people "top" their Zaino with a carnuba for that extra shine. If you have switched to a Carnuba, you'll be fine going over the top, but if you have switched to a polymer, I'd suggest removing all the Zaino as your new polymer may not bond as well. |

Its amazing what happens with time, at least for me. For the first two years or so, I would wash the X almost every week, adding Zaino coat over Zaino coat. Slowly, as the novelty wore off, I was far less meticulious. This summer, I put on a coat of wax in May, I will follow up in the next month with another and thats it.
Bottom line, no one really cared about the deep shine but me, and now I dont either. As long as the car is adequately protected, I am content. |
