Hi,
As I am looking for all kind of accessories for my new MDX I checked out ebay. Well, one of the things I saw was an accessorry called velocity tuner. they say it adds HP and saves on GAS... of course it looks like a piece of metal I could fashion myself from sheet metal..so the question is...did anyone here actually use this, did it work? and are there any downsides to using this thing?
I am a bit skeptical....

| DONT GET THAT. The tuner is a peice of junk. Popular Mechanics did a study on fuel savers and they got one of those tuners off eBay. The people operating the Dyno where afraid that it would fall apart and hurt the engine. They tried it and even the better built models did not do a thing. |

| I always get a kick out of crappy products like that. Are we honestly supposed to think that if a little piece of metal or some other simple device would increase power AND gas mileage that a huge company like Honda who spends millions of $ every year on research would choose not do do it?? Go figure.... If only they new!!!!!!! |

This has all of the earmarks of that old story that goes around the country periodically about the invention that will dramatically increase gas mileage. You know, the one where the gas companies have bought the rights to this invention so that the automakers cannot put it on their vehicles to increase MPG.
Many people have actually believed this BS.
The more modern version has a complicity betwen the oil companies and manufactures. It portrays the manufactures as being able to dramatically increase MPG if they wanted to.
People will really believe anything if it is what they want to believe.

Can't say I agree. I purchased one from www.velocitytuner.com and LOVE it. It saving gas on my MDX and it has increased my HP. Plus its well made from stainless steel.
Prior to that, I purchased a total piece of junk called Air Razor. They Market it as being precision laser cut but its not and has sharp edges that almost sent me to the ER! Plus they say its stainless steel and its not. Also, anyone can inflate numbers and their little "test fleet" BS is just that. Total crap - don't buy from them! |

What what was that popular WWII canned meat product that the GI's grew to hate. Oh yes. It was called SPAM.
