I had a 2001 MDX Touring and took the head unit and Bozo speakers out of the MDX right after I bought it. I tried using the factory head unit but it sucked. So, I purchased an Eclipse and liked the sound and replaced the speakers and amps. Well, I traded that MDX off a couple of weeks ago for a 2005 Premium. Not wanting to get rid of the steering wheel controls and the XM on this one I opted for an install of a JL Audio Cleansweep. Well, let me tell you what, this piece rocks and sounds better than the Eclipse head unit. This is an excellent piece for those of you with Navi and such. Everything completely interfaced and no problems. The cost is about that of a decent head unit ($400). JL has a definate hit with this piece. All of the rest of the speakers were replaced with Diamond Audio and a Memphis and Xtant amp were hooked up to the Cleansweep. Those of you considering an upgrade may just want to consider this piece. Just wanted to pass on my experience with it.

You forgot to mention that when used as directed you do lose volume control through the steering wheel controls. The Clean Sweep has it's own volume control. It is a great unit, though. A good solution to adding an aftermarket setup to the factory deck.

No pics to show JD. The factory head unit is still in tact and the cleansweep is under the passenger seat. I guess if you are really interested I could take a picture of the amp and crossover install in the headrest compartment. For the sub I am just using a subbox for the 12 inch sub. As far as the volume control goes, just turn the volume control up and stow it away. I do not even mess with it. Out of sight, out of mind and I use the steering wheel controls.

Are you saying the volume controls still work on the steering wheel?

Yes, I am still using the steering wheel controls. I had them put the master volume control under the center console. Do not even have to touch it.
