I have a 02 mdx with 47k. I just had the transmission replaced. Next month the front springs will be replaced under the recal program. I also have water in the the headlights that will be fixed next visit to Acura. Okay, I have two warranty choices that are the same price. Acura warranty that is a 5 year to 100k or an untimate warranty corp warranty that is a 7 year to 125k. I am wondering which one to purchase? They are both about 1750.
Thanks for the info

Personally, I'd go with the Acura, since it will also include the Roadside assistance should you get stranded in the middle of nowhere. I'm not familiar with the Ultimate corp, but with a 3rd party warranty, you'd always have to worry about the company going bankrupt - which leaves you with NO extended warranty after you paid for it (I'm pretty certain Acura will be around for awhile).
Also, check out Hondacuraworld for a quote on the Acura ext warranty - you might be able to save some $$$ . . . |

| Isn't Acura extending the length of its warranties? Get a quote from Tim at hondacuraworld.com and compare to your dealer's. Personally, I would prefer the Acura care warranty; it's not exactly the same as the original but it will continue most of your coverage plus the roadside assistance.. |

| I remember something about Washington State not accepting warranty’s from other states. I was also offered an extended warranty from Lynwood Acura from a second party they claimed was ranked #1 with JD Powers. It did cover everything and seemed better than the Acura warranty, however I didn’t read the fine print and haven’t purchased one yet. Let us know your findings. |

I my opinion, I would stick with the Acura warranty. I've had personal experience with aftermarket warranties from third parties, and it was not good - the company went bankrupt and I was left holding the bag. I am sure there are good eggs and bad eggs in the third party warrany market, but by going with the Acura warranty, you can count on it being there when you need it. In addition, you will avoid the hassle of having to deal with an "outsider" each time you need a repair. Good luck!

I agree with JM, better to be safe than sorry and have to deal with additional hassles in terms of what's covered if and when you need to use the coverage. Just my $.02. |

When was the 02 purchased? If I read you post correctly, you plan to pay $1750 for a 5 years 100K warranty? In my opinion, that's a lot of money for 1 to 2 years of extended warranty. Forget the 100K miles, the 5 years is from date of original purchase. If the vehicle was purchase 12/1/01, you are essentially paying $1750 for 14 months.
Sounds like you are taking care of the major issue with the original warranty already. |

Definately check hondacuraworld.com prices. $1750 sounds very high for a 5yr/100K Acura Care warranty. It's only $1025 for a 2004/2005/2006 with $0 deductible on hondacurawworld.com |

I did a warranty search and filled out a request for quote from a third party. They called me and a real high pressure sales approach. They wanted me to make a deposit of 250 and then I had 30 days to make my decision if I wanted the policy. Of course, the price was only good for one day. These people are selling warranties, do they really think a one day only price will work.
The Acura extended warranty is for 48k to 98k and 4 years for 1710.
I guess I will go with that one. |

Did you check with Hondacuraworld.com to verify you have the best price available? They offer significant savings over regular dealers price gouging. |
