Seat Noise Question - Click HERE for Original Thread

Good morning all. I'm new to the board having just taken delivery of my 05 Touring/Nav last week. That being said, I notice the car is fine other than the front seat foam (both driver and passenger) makes a type of squeak or noise when a passenger sits in it. It is as if the foam is breaking down or breaking in. Whenever the passenger moves in the seat the noise is heard and you can duplicate it by pressing on the seat surface without an occupant in it. It is clearly in the foam right below the leather. Now, having been a Lexus person until now, this comes as a surprise to me and a disappointment. Is this a temporary thing while the seat breaks in or is it the quality of the seats in which case I am very surprised. Other than this the car is great. Any thoughts would be most helpful. Also, do you think Acura service would or could do anything about this other than replace the seats? Thanks again for the great board and the advice. DQ

Are you sure that it is not the leather "squeaking" as something moves across it? (Just pushing down on the leather will cause it to move relative to your hand.) Dry leather will do that. Try a light amount of Leather New, Neatsfoot Oil, or similiar t moisten the leather slightly and see if that makes a difference.

Will try that. Not sure if its the leather or the foam. Can't hurt. If that's not it have you heard of this issue before? Seems strange. Thanks for the reply. DQ

Could it be the seat rubbing on the center console? try putting a sheet of paper between the seat bottom and the center console.

My 04MDX has a squeaking/rattling noise that I can't seem to figure out. I thought it might be the glove compartment, but it wasn't. I thought it might be the passenger seat against the center console, but I don't think it is.

I'm thinking it might be where the center console faux wood grain and plastic meet.

I'm saying this becuase when I held the faux wood grain it stopped 80% of the noise. Can anyone confirm this?

Or am I completely wrong?

Thank you

I have the same problem with the leather seat noise. I have an infiniti that does not have the same problem...I am hoping that the noise will go away after the break in period....Let me know if you find a solution
