I think it is peculiar that the MDX (without NAV) does not automatically show what the fan and vent settings are when you turn on the climate control.
Also, the vent settings on my car always seem to default to the front defogger settings when I turn the climate control on.
Is there a way to either keep the previous setting or set a different default?

Maybe i didnt understand your description correct but my 03 premium keeps some setting.
fan - i use this to turn on and off like most other cars. so it cant be set to the previous setting. Just like a volume control that you turn far left to turn off the radio (not MDX radio tho).
vent - since i use the fan to turn on and off the climate control, the vent stays the same meaning keeps previous setting. But if you turn on the climate control by pressing AUTO, it is auto meaning that the system controls all meaning doesnt matter what the previous settings were.
front defogger - are you talking about the button or where the air i coming out from? The button should not be turned on automatically. But you may feel that air might be coming out to the top if AUTO is controlling the system.
I guess the best way to turn on the system is to use fan like i do. I never liked the AUTO switch since it cant read my body temperature. :)

I just set mine on "72, Full Auto" and forget about it. Seems to do a great job at that setting in hot or cold weather. If set on that setting it will stay there every time the X is started. Does yours not stay at the last setting?
Rarely I'll have to hit the defrost button when it's snowing so the window will defrost. |
