Fabvsix,

Your Rl looks great!

I contemplated on getting Zaino but have never gotten off my rear and done so.
If you don't mind, please share your supply sources.

To purchase the PC Kit go to www.autopia.com. Ask for Lynn or David and make sure to mention my name James Landry. Zaino is at www.zainobros.com. Ask for Sal ! :1: As far as the interior....well I've been FLAMED by some old timers, so I will not go there......

EVERYTHING COLLECTS DUST !

Good day....

Fab.....

Fab, you have too much time on your hands! You don't need a mirror anymore...

Just curious: doesn't the polisher take up too much Zaino versus the old mano?
Fabvsix
Well it was my first try this past weekend. I took my time. As you can see it came out flawless. No it didn't take more of Zaino than going the old route. The kit comes with a CD explaining how the system works best. Let's put it this way, I wasn't sore for the following 3 days from "hand washing", hand drying, hand waxing and hand buffing.......I bought the bucket which has a grate in the bottom to prevent you from stirring up all the dirt from your rag while washing. I bought a sheep skin rag also. All the rags (microfiber rags) are all high quality from Germany that come with their own washing material. The pad come in three styles: Fine, medium and abrasive (for an old car that has been neglected). Once I get a handle on it, I should be able to maintain without pain.....

My next car will be my 1999 neglected Honda CRV. I bought it used a year ago and really never waxed it etc....so I'm going to apply the kit and make sure to take before and after shots.......just having so much fun and it's so easy to use !

Hey Fab. How much to do my X for me? It really needs it before I start driving to Tahoe every weekend. I'll be happy to drive it over to the East Bay and leave it with you for a day or two. Let me know.

Randy,
I'm not ready to take on that responsibility as I'm still getting accustomed to this polisher. Their advise was to do an "old" car first to get a handle on it. I took a BIG risk doing my new RL, well new to me as it still looks brand new with very low mileage.....I still have my MDX to do as well ! I calibrated with David and concluded that I had applied too much wax. Of course no harm is done, but being my first time, I felt more was better than too little......all in all it came out FABulous ! :2:

What do you use PRIOR to the zaino steps but after the washing?

Personally, I've done claybaring, then McGuires Swirl remover.... Then three coats of Z2 and 3 coats of Z5.

I found the zaino Z2 and Z5 did nothing to reduce the hairline swirls/lines in the surface of the clear coat.

PC 7336SP (same as the 7424 but with a velcro flex pad) and orange dual density pads (lake country manufacturing) for the swirl remover. Fresh pads for the z2. Softer Red pads(Griots) for the Z5.

Same regime on my M5.

Once frest the surface is so slippery it is almost freakish.

Fab-

it's an SUV...

not a Murcielago!

No claybar? Does wonders for tree sap and other airborn particulates... and zaino makes some, so you don't have to 'break from the cult'...

Fab is the official high priest of Zaino. He should get a commission and go on national TV. :D :D :D
Fabvsix
Claybar was done when I bought the car 16 months ago off the truck plastic wrapped from HONDA in Japan....
Brought home and sits in the gargage 80% of the time.
So what tree sap and other stuff are you referring too ?
