I don't believe that is an MDX color. Are you sure it wasn't sage brush pearl? You can see colors at www.acura.com.

Doing a google on that color brings up Chrysler cars???

Was SBP on 02 color? I thought that was a new 03 color but I could be wrong.

I found Crysler to be that color too. I called the dealer back and he swears it is satin jade pearl. He said it is a light green color with black or granite interior.

Must not be an Acura dealer. Could be granite green which is darker or Havasu blue which is a very light blue (which you either love or hate).

2002 Colors:

Deep Mahogony Pearl
Havasu Blue
Starlight Silver Metallic
Mesa Beige Metallic
Nighthawk Black Pearl
Granite Green Metallic
Redrock Rearl
Taffeta White

It is not an Acura dealer and the salesman told me that the car is getting detailed today(it just was traded-in). I test drove a light green acura by my house but I don't know the exact name of that color. If it is the same...I am one of those people that hate it.

thanks for your help

Well, the green is definetely better than the blue but I am not crazy about it. Thanks for pics.

i got pictures and it is granite green. I am taking a pass on this key lime pie vehicle.

I had a Jade green Dakota. Its was ugly after I drove it a few times. To me its more just a florescent color (JADE)

The granite green isn't that bad in person. I wouldn't reject it without seeing it in person. It actually looks grey in a lot of lighting situations. The Havasu Blue is another story......:16: .

this is the actual vehicle...

it doesn't look like either of the two above. I am confused.

Walk away, no RUN away from that color !
Do a quick search on 'Havasu Blue' and you will see universal reaction to the color. Many have tabbed it as a feminine color - not that there's any wrong with that . . .

Yep I didn't think it was Granite Green (which is really more like Gunmetal Gray to me). I doubt anyone that sees the Granite Green thinks it looks green at all.
komondor
the paint code should be on the door pillar if remember correctly that should answer the question for sure

That's true, unless you point out some of the highlights under specific lighting conditions.

Funny thing... just joined this forum and found my own MDX right on it! I also called the dealer about the color and they swore it was "satin jade pearl". I had to force them to cross it out and write in "blue" on the contract. It's a real beauty... one owner, 19902 mi, woodgrain steering wheel and shift knob, with full woodgrain dash kit, looks brand new... just ugly striping on it. I don't think these guys realized what they had, because I got an extremely good price on it. WOW!

congratulations on your new purchase. If it is from Bob Tolkan it it the exact same one. It was a good price but I just couldn't pull the trigger with that color. What did you end up getting it for?
havasublue
I ended up paying 23,800. I thought that was an extremely good price considering that it only had 19,902 mi. looks brand new, and has a woodgrain steering wheel, shift knob, and full wood grain dash and interior. it also has some cool logos that were custom made to be that black chrome color and it's touring. the only thing i didn't like was the stripes on the side, they are painted on "custom" but i'm not into stripes. i'm a female, so i absolutely love the havasu blue color -- i never thought i'd be able to get my hands on one, but it just fell into my lap. (yep, it was bob tolkan... they really insisted it was "satin jade pearl" ... i don't even think they knew it has 6 cd's in the dash... not a tiny scratch on it anywhere, not even the wheels... they could have gotten a lot more for it i think.)

Great deal! $23K is superb b/c that car probably books around 30K.

And Im a MALE Havasu owner and I've gotten nothing but compliments on the color, from male and females alike.
psrome
Good Job on the price. Everything about this car was perfect for me except the color. I am glad someone was able to take advantage of it.

I would love to find one for myself but I think it is not going to be possible.

HavasuBlue,
Congratulations and welcome to our *humble* board ! No offense intended by my post on the color, just rehashing prior comments posted from the past. $23.8k w/ >20k miles is an excellent deal, (a steal actually) as I recently traded my '02 Touring w/52k miles for 22.5k ! Enjoy your X . . .
JimH
Socaljd:

$ 22.5 K for your trade-in must have been the low KBB or other trade-in value. I was thinking of looking for a deal using my 2002 MDX Touring (w/ 37 K miles), but would not be interested in that sort of trade-in value ( too low in my opinion). Do you know which source the dealer used to establish the trade-in value (KBB, Edmunds, etc.?).
Thanks.
socalJD
They used KBB trade-in value with a 'good' condition rating.
My X was pristine, but dealers won't give the 'excellent' rating. . .
I know I would've done better with a private sale, but since I owed a balance with AHFC, it was just too convenient to trade in and not deal with the extra paperwork, hassles, risk & liability. I got an excellent deal on my '05, so I used the trade for a down pmt and let them squeeze any profits out of the resale . . .

Absolutely NO regrets here . . . :2:
havasublue
No offense taken by the comments on the color!

Havasu Blue has been my favorite MDX color, but it's really a baby blue and not every one can pull it off. I'm female, but personally I think both men and women can get away with it... but a man driving a baby blue mdx really needs to be confident, it's kinda like men wearing the new pink shirts.

About the price, i really got lucky... but i've been negotiating potential deals for about six months now and practice really does pay off.
